AOC praises Biden: "He's exceeded progressives' expectations"

Published in Blog on April 26, 2021 by Article V Patriot

Say what you want about New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, she can always be relied on to say the quiet part out loud.

Ocasio-Cortez hosted a virtual town hall recently during which she praised the supposedly moderate Biden administration for "exceeding" the expectations of progressives. She went so far as to say that the president's first 100 days have been "very impressive."

“One thing that I will say is that I do think that, by demonstration, President Biden has definitely exceeded expectations that progressives had,” Ocasio-Cortez said on Friday. “You know, I’ll be frank, I think a lot of us expected a much more conservative administration. And I think that his, not only what has ultimately come out, but the active invitation and willingness and collaboration with progressives in his first 100 days, or almost 100 days, has been very impressive.”

She's not wrong. Joe Biden ran on the promise that he would control the progressive, socialist, big-government wing of his party. "I beat the socialist," Biden insisted when his voters voiced concerns about his leftward tendencies.

As is the case with most federal politicians, Biden's actions are a far cry from his words. Biden has overseen one of the most progressive, big-government administrations of the last 100 years. Here's a brief rundown of what he's accomplished for progressives since being inaugurated:

This list isn't even exhaustive. Now, Biden is proposing an "infrastructure" bill that would expand the power of the federal government even further. It's no wonder AOC is so happy.

The American people, on the other had, are anything but happy. They're seeing the federal government take control of their families, schools, towns, states, and communities. That's why millions of them have joined the Convention of States Project.

Over 5 million American patriots have decided to DO SOMETHING about Biden's takeover of our country. They're working to call the first-ever Article V Convention of States, which has the power to propose constitutional amendments that can put the federal government back in its constitutional box.

These amendments, which states propose at a Convention of States, can limit federal power, impose fiscal restraints on Congress, and mandate term limits for federal officials. Once ratified by 38 states, this complete package of amendments would keep Washington from infringing on our rights and put a permanent end to the threat of big-government socialism.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
