God's children are not for sale; that's the clear message relayed in the eye-opening film Sound of Freedom.
The film has remained one of the top three performing movies in America since the start of July, exposing audiences to the sickening reality of child trafficking. While the movie is not political or divisive, it has sparked a strange wave of attacks.
Tim Ballard, the movie's protagonist who rescued over 100 children from sex trafficking, has been accused of supporting microchipping children. The verified lie spread like wildfire across the internet and social media, causing many to distrust the film's origins. A quote attributed to Ballard was even fabricated, which said a "microchipping program is the only way to effectively protect our kids in the digital age."
Ballard addressed the falsehood in a video, saying the rumors are 'complete baloney.' He said lies have also spread about his involvement in trafficking networks and his connection to masonic practices.
"I'm very much against anything that would allow the government or others to control children," Ballard said. "It's not going to stop. Expect every lie. At this point, I have been accused of everything but murder."
The movie took five years to finally hit theaters, confirming the uphill battle endured to expose the extent of sex trafficking. The Washington Post and several other news outlets have compared the film to QAnon conspiracies and other articles have called it controversial.
But what is so wrong about educating the masses on an evil operation that goes unnoticed in our own communities?
With just a $14 million budget and originally dropped by Disney in 2018, the response signals a peculiar distaste for revealing child trafficking.

Ballard said the smears are intended to discredit everyone part of the film in order to stop people from watching Sound of Freedom. But data shows the attacks aren't working.
The film has raked in $85 million in two weeks, currently standing as the second-best-performing movie in the nation. Angel Studios is the only studio to accomplish a second-weekend increase greater than 35% over their opening weekend during the summer season.
"We're going to force the light into the darkness, force the conversations, and in the end we'll rescue children," Ballard encouraged.
