It's time for an Article V convention, our government is 'off the rails'

This very moment in our history is exactly why Article V was written into the Constitution by our genius Founding Fathers, proclaimed Newsmax show host Chris Plante during a segment of his podcast, The Chris Plante Show.

Our federal government has stopped listening to the people, acting responsibly, and behaving fiscally competent. Its power is ever-growing. Article V offers a solution to check the power of the federal government, which Plante says is "clearly off the rails in 2023 – and has been for some time."

"I support the Convention of States completely," said Plante. "I think it is an entirely appropriate measure to be taken. At this moment in our history, this is exactly what COS was built in by the geniuses into our Constitution to act in a time like this when our federal government has stopped listening to the people."

Plante first learned about Convention of States from the great Mark Levin, who has been a long-time supporter of the movement. He called Levin a brilliant man and promoted his new book,"The Democrat Party Hates America."

After giving his full support to what he describes as a "final check" in our system, Plante referred his listeners to the COS petition. "There's a petition you can find online, a petition where you can sign on to the movement calling for a Convention of States."

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention.
