The U.S. military has prioritized the far-left, woke agenda above military readiness and excellence, and it's now facing a heavy (and expected) consequence: recruitment efforts have failed because Americans don’t want to join today’s military.
From forcing the COVID-19 vaccine onto service members to paving the way to gender falsehoods, the U.S. military has not done a good job convincing Americans to step up and work under Biden’s command in the Department of Defense.
In 2021, tens of thousands of U.S. military members applied for religious exemptions to the Biden administration's draconian COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Yet, many were denied and even booted out for refusing the experimental shot. After firing 8,000 service members for refusing to comply with its vaccine mandate, the Pentagon recently sent out a mass letter to fired soldiers, offering a 'correction of military records.'
A 2022 analysis from The Heritage Foundation ranked the U.S. military as ‘weak’ for the first time ever, concluding that America is not prepared to win a war against Russia or China.
As COS reported earlier this year, an 18-year-old female military recruit was forced to sleep and shower with trans-identifying men in basic training and felt powerless to speak out due to fear of retaliation. Because the men had begun the drug therapy process, they were documented as female. During an Armed Services Committee, U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds said that “situations like this… may be impacting recruitment and morale by placing a disproportionate emphasis on gender-related ideology.”

Sen. Round was spot on. These despicable judgments have resulted in the Pentagon falling short of its fiscal year 2023 military recruitment goal by 41,000, according to reports.
"That number understates the challenge before us as the services lowered [their] end-strength goals in recent years, in part because of the difficult recruiting environment," said Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness Ashish Vazirani. "The all-volunteer force faces one of its greatest challenges since inception."
The all-volunteer force began when the draft ended in 1973. Exactly 50 years later, it faces its greatest challenges ever with the most-voted-for president in U.S. history. Ironically, despite the woke agenda, recruitment ads have pivoted recently, depicting strong, masculine, patriotic service members fighting for their country.
Maybe it’s time to reconsider the woke, social justice and equity ideas swarming the government and instead get back to what truly matters in the DOD – defense. However, we know that’s unlikely to come anytime soon. We also know a way to fix this mess is through Article V of the Constitution.
Our military members deserve better. They deserve a federal government that doesn't violate their rights in the name of big-government mandates, and that's why thousands of veterans have joined the Convention of States movement.
To join us in support of the only constitutional solution for reining in the federal government and keeping it in check, sign the Convention of States petition today.
