Let's look at this for the American people who may not know what we're talking about, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre suggested this week.
Pierre took to layman's terms to answer questions surrounding the debt limit conflict taking place between McCarthy and Biden. The only problem is that Americans are much more cognizant of how to pay bills than the bureaucrats in government.
Nevertheless, the White House considers itself exemplary in giving lectures on financial responsibility.
"If you buy a car, you are expected to pay the monthly payments. If you buy a home, you are expected to pay the mortgage every month," she explained, overlooking student loans. "That is the expectation. That is the spending that you put forth... and now you are paying it every month. If you do not pay, then your credit is going to be bad."
In the eyes of White House staffers, the public is inept and needs government to help. Americans know how to pay bills, it's the government that doesn't.
"So let's look at Congress for a second, this is spending that they've already done... They need to do the right thing that has been done 78 times since 1960," Pierre continued in arguing for raising the debt limit.

Convention of States endorser Ben Shapiro blasted the lecture during his podcast, saying that these same officials pushed an eviction moratorium and student loan debt forgiveness, the total opposite of financial accountability.

It's not complicated at all. While the White House asserts that McCarthy is manufacturing a crisis, it's important to remember this crisis has been looming for years, every time the government spends trillions of dollars that it doesn't have.
It's going to take inconvenient budget restrictions on Congress in order to save our nation from a future economic disaster.
Convention of States is working to place budget requirements on the federal government through an Article V convention. By signing the petition below, you'll be helping to make it happen.
