If Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is elected into office, he has promised to pardon former President Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, from the felony offenses brought by federal prosecutors.
During a speech Tuesday morning in Miami, Ramaswamy urged every other contender in the race for the White House to commit to pardoning Trump, adding that if they won't vow to pardon Trump, they must explain why.
We need more "country, honesty, integrity, and actual purpose for our country in a way that puts America first, not our political interests first," he declared. "I don't want to win this election – unlike others – by eliminating our competition by a federal administrative police state arresting my opponents."
I challenge every US Presidential candidate to join me in standing for TRUTH. Commit to pardon Donald Trump for these federal charges on Day 1, or explain why you won’t. No one should hide. Not Biden. Not DeSantis. Not Haley. Not Pence. Not RFK. Not Scott. Not anyone. Principles… pic.twitter.com/qYP3fUrE5R

Ramaswamy said if he is to win, he wants it to be achieved the way that our Founding Fathers believed it should be done, starting in 1776, in which every person's voice and vote counts equally.
Earlier this year, Ramaswamy gave his full endorsement to the Convention of States movement. Other candidates like Gov. Ron DeSantis have backed COS efforts to rein in the federal government's power as well.
