Leftists Push Scare Tactics

Published in Endorsements Opposition on February 04, 2023 by David P Schneider

Leftist groups, Common Cause and League of Women Voters, have sowed the seeds of fear into the GOP ranks in Montana and Wyoming.

In Montana, Common Cause (a Soros funded policy group), sent out thousands of text messages against Convention of States asking voters to pressure GOP senators to vote no on SJ 2 (Montana's Convention of States legislation). Here is the text that was forwarded to us:

Hi #####, it's William with Common Cause! In Montana, politicians are pushing for an Article V constitutional convention, a hazardous resolution that threatens our rights. Can you call your state senator, Senator ######, and urge them to vote no on SJ 2 when it comes up for a third reading? Reply YES for the number, STOP to opt out.

The Montana resolution, SJ 2 failed on third reading, with 10 GOP senators voting against it. One of those senators even thanked the Democrats for helping her in defeating the bill. WATCH FOR YOURSELF

In Wyoming, SJ 11 (Wyoming's Convention of States legislation) was being considered in committee. The League of Women Voters (leftist, pro-abortion group) was on hand to voice their opposition to calling a convention for proposing amendments on the subject matters of fiscal restraints, term limits, and further limiting the powers and jurisdiction of the federal government. No big shocker there!

After SJ 11 passed the committee, and passed the first and second readings in the Wyoming Senate, the Wyoming GOP sent an email to their members asking them to oppose Article V applications. Why?

Why would the Montana and Wyoming GOP be listening to leftists? Is it because the John Birch Society is getting their talking points from the likes of Hillary Clinton and Common Cause? Why is the John Birch Society helping Common Cause in this opposition? Take a look at these screen shots from both of their websites on this issue:

When you have people pushing you, you need to look around and see who is standing on each side.

Remember, many nationally known conservatives are backing Convention of States. They have given their endorsement to the effort that has already passed states like Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida. In all 19 states have already joined, and the leftists are scared! Check out this book written by leftist favorite, former U.S. Senator Russ Feingold released last year.

The left know that fear is a powerful tool, and they use it to paralyze their political enemies.  They understand too well their dream of bigger centralized government is in jeopardy when the states figure out they control the federal government and actually use the Constitution as written in Article V to bypass a dysfunctional Congress to propose reforms like Term Limits, a Balanced Budget Amendment, a repeal of the Income Tax (16th Amendment), an end to Court Packing, and restrictions on federal agency powers. (Check out this article written by David Horowitz describing how the left has planted the seeds of fear)

Which side are you on? If you have a better solution than the one the Framers of our Constitution put into Article V, please speak up, because time is running out on this great Republic.
