The public's anger around the Chinese Communist Party's spying tool has finally sparked the federal government to do something inside the delusional Swamp called Washington.
A bipartisan piece of legislation in Congress aims to put a complete ban on TikTok in the United States. The efforts come as South Dakota and other states have recently moved forward with their own action against the app.

A previous effort in Congress stopped federal employees from using the app on government-issued devices but did not address the security threat nationwide.
The legislation introduced by Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio on Tuesday would take legitimate steps for national security.
Called the National Threat of Internet Surveillance, Oppressive Censorship and Influence and Algorithmic Learning by the Chinese Communist Party Act, the bill would block all transactions from any social media company based in Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Cuba or Venezuela.
"The federal government has yet to take a single meaningful action to protect American users from the threat of TikTok," Rubio said. "This isn’t about creative videos — this is about an app that is collecting data on tens of millions of American children and adults every day."
It's true. The federal government has overlooked the threat of TikTok, and it may have something to do with the fact that the average age of our Congress members is 59 years old. Not so much the TikTok generation.
TikTok helped promote the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 and helped Democrats in midterm elections. About 25% of the 65 million Americans using TikTok are between the ages of 10 and 19.
China has been able to easily gather information on Americans through the social media platform. TikTok has more than one billion users worldwide and its parent company ByteDance is owned in part by the Chinese government.
At the state level, representatives have been far quicker to address these security concerns, which reiterates the need for power to return to the states. The federal government eventually gets around to issues, while state governments promptly govern based on current issues.
State power is the way for We the People to be heard, not through the federal government's prolonged and dysfunctional management
