The U.S. House of Representatives just passed a massive, $1.5 trillion omnibus spending package absolutely packed with handouts to favored issues and organizations.
Known as earmarks or "pork barrel spending," these special appropriations are used by our "representatives" in Congress to curry favor and, essentially, buy votes.
Convention of States Endorser (and next COS at Home guest!) Rep. Chip Roy slammed the bill as "garbage" and characterized it as "funding tyranny."
The text for the $1.5 TRILLION 2,741-page spending monstrosity that the HOUSE is voting on TODAY was released at 2:30am THIS MORNING

After taking a look at the bill, it’s pretty easy to understand why this garbage was released at the break of dawn - it funds tyranny.
In a lengthy Twitter thread, Rep. Roy pointed out that the bill does nothing to increase oil and gas production, hurts Americans at the pump, sends tens of millions of dollars to Venezuela, funds radical global climate activism and CRT training, advances COVID tyranny, and funds "gender programs" in Pakistan.
It's also absolutely overflowing with pork. The Hill reports that the bill includes 4,000 earmarks spanning 367 pages, and Citizens for Renewing America published on Twitter a list of some of the most ridiculous.

Europe is descending into war. Inflation is making the most basic goods more expensive. Gas prices are soaring. Our country is $30 trillion dollars in debt, and the economy is stalling.
And this is what our "leaders" in D.C. are spending our money on??
Enough is enough. It's time to change how Washington operates, and we can do it with an Article V Convention of States.
A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments that force Congress to be fiscally responsible and strip them of their money-wasting authority.
These amendments can require a balanced budget every year, but they can do so much more. Amendments can limit spending, which will force Congress to cut these wasteful programs and focus on only those things absolutely essential to our country. Other amendments can impose tax caps, which will prohibit Congress from simply raising taxes to balanced the budget.
Our country needs to change course before our children and grandchildren are saddled with the debt impose by this generation's irresponsible Congress. Article V gives us the power to do that -- we just have to use it.
