Government bureaucrats have done as much as possible to push electric vehicles, so it's now time to pivot to what's known as "small off-road engines," or SOREs.
Lawnmowers are the latest item that government officials are after. Officials say regulations are needed in order to reduce carbon emissions and "noise pollution."
Several cities have implemented bans on gas-powered machinery because of the environmental effects, including California, Washington, D.C., Burlington, Vermont, and Vancouver, British Columbia. Authorities in Denver, Dallas, and Minnesota are also considering restrictions on the usage of gas-powered equipment.
California's ban phases in next year and prohibits the sale of new small gas engines. It doesn't prevent citizens from using or reselling gas-powered equipment, it would just make it inconvenient to purchase regular, gas-powered mowers in person.
For both noise and environmental purposes, gas-powered leaf blowers were banned in D.C. starting in 2022, with a possible fine of $500. The only catch is that the ban doesn't apply to federal property, which makes up a significant amount of the land in the nation's Capital.
"Transitioning to battery-powered landscaping equipment is a more sustainable alternative that would move us closer to meeting climate action goals and reduce harmful health effects," said the California-based group San Diegans for Sustainable, Equitable & Quiet Equipment in Landscaping.
As this latest scheme spreads across progressive cities, the Department of Energy has already targeted incandescent light bulbs, a national ban that takes effect in July. The gas stove agenda is still underway with Stacy Abrams at the top, and it won't be long before the Biden administration joins in this pursuit on a national level.
Until the people join together, the government will continue to come after our day-to-day items until we no longer have any personal freedom left.
We will rein in the power of the federal government using Article V, but we need to continue growing support for Convention of States. Please sign the petition below.
