As core inflation hits a 40-year high, Biden admits there may be a “slight” recession

Published in Blog on October 13, 2022 by Article V Patriot

These days it seems as if taking responsibility only happens when set in stone facts force manipulative politicians to give up on their narratives based in subjective truth.

Biden proved this to be true by admitting there may be a slight recession just before new data revealed the economic crisis is in fact growing in America.

For months, the Biden administration has avoided taking any ownership of the economic uncertainties now facing our nation. The White House attempted to redefine the word ‘recession.’ They brushed off poor data by turning attention towards rising wages. They even tried to change minds under the disguise of the “Inflation Reduction Act.”

But it’s clear their messaging is just trying to soften the pain of our terrible economic standing, what could lead to difficult years ahead for the American economy.

“I don’t think there will be a recession. If it is, it’ll be a very slight recession,” Biden told CNN days before the Labor Department’s data was released.

Core consumer price index has risen 6.6% in one year, hitting a 40-year high. The core CPI excludes food and energy because they are more volatile markets. The overall CPI increased by 0.4% in September, an 8.2% increase from one year ago.

The new statistics released Thursday were not expected, either. Dow Jones economists predicted a 0.4% increase in September’s core CPI, which turned out to be a 0.6% rise. Their prediction was under-predicted for the overall CPI score as well.

So what did the Inflation Reduction Act do to help inflation? Clearly nothing – as expected. It made headlines and allowed blindly-trusting, politically-unaware Americans to believe the title. The same thing is done in today’s media, which runs off headline readers not grasping the full story.

The U.S. economy is pointed in a very gloomy direction, and it’s clear we can’t trust politicians to be leaders that will solve the issues they’ve created. The American people deserve better. Convention of States is the solution to solve the core issue: corrupted, ineffective politicians.

Through an Article V convention, we can add amendments to the Constitution pertaining to term limits, budgets, and limits to the federal government’s authority. Almost every political issue we’re facing can be traced back to inept, unaccountable bureaucrats.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
