At a recent Communications Team meeting Joel Thornton, Social Media Team Leader, shared his experience and knowledge about how citizens can impact legislators. He promised that legislators love to have constituents express interest in governance. 

Joel energetically convinced us that representatives are most comfortable in the Capitol on their home turf, and numbers do matter. Legislators take notice when big groups, in matching logos, make an appearance in Tallahassee.

COS Florida plans to be a national leader in the “Keep Five Alive” movement. Florida passed the resolution for an Article V convention in 2014, and now we must help other states cross the 34-state threshold needed to call the convention. COS actively supports a resolution related to term limits, fiscal restraint, and reduced federal rulemaking.

Maybe you do not consider yourself an activist. Don’t let that stop you from supporting people who are. You don’t have to speak up. You can start by showing up. Buy a t-shirt here.

If you are fed up with the woke Fed, make a statement. Come meet people who have gathered the courage to defend our constitution from further erosion by unelected federal bureaucrats. 

Would you make a trip for your daughter? Would you make a trip for your son? Make a trip for your wife, mother, or father? What about for your country?  

We need a show of force in Tallahassee to stake our position on liberty. There is nothing more important you can do for our nation and Convention of States than to attend the Rally in Tally on April 4, 2023.

It would be wonderful if you, our valued supporters, would plan a brief vacation around our Legislation Day. You can refresh your understanding of Florida history, visit the automobile museum, enjoy natural hiking trails, or just not be at work. Here are six reasons to visit Tallahassee.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention.
