VOLUNTEER NOW

Veterans Coalition Team

Join the Veterans Coalition Team as a Veterans Coalition Director (VCD) Team Member. The VCD team role is a vital part of the district and/or state team that works with Veterans in the district and/or state to band together to further Convention of States goals. Each VCD Team member will work with their VCD to contact other Veterans to make them feel welcome as needed and help them be engaged in the needs of your state team’s grassroots growth. Your efforts will make them feel welcome, needed, and help them find where their skills fit into the needs of your state team’s grassroots growth.

Guidance and training will be provided to you by your state team leaders. You will not perform this mission alone! Bringing new volunteers in through your VCD Team efforts allows for a whole new dynamic – Veteran to Veteran. The goal is to turn Veteran petition signers into volunteers like yourself who are knowledgeable, engaged, and want to do their part to help us complete our mission of building the largest group of self-governing activists in this country.

Responsibilities of the VCD Team Member include…

  • Work closely with your district/state VCD to reach out and welcome new Veteran supporters that have signed up on our COS site through various avenues. To do that you may:
    • Be sending pre-formatted emails.
    • Be making phone calls.
    • Be hosting small get-together meetings locally.
  • Be able to provide a feeling of comradery with a newly signed Veterans and help them feel motivated to get involved.
  • Learn how to use tools through training from your State Director and your VCD team members.
  • Attend periodic video/phone meetings (one hour or less) to offer ideas, obtain training, and coordinate with other VCD Team members.

Expected commitment level: 1 +/- hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to learn all tools related to the use of CitizenBuilder.
  • Must possess good phone etiquette.
  • Must be willing to complete the very few necessary online courses at our COS University assigned by the VCD. This is to build a basic understanding of the Article V Project and be able to talk with other Veterans about Article V of the U.S. Constitution and our mission.
    • All courses are self-paced, and most can be completed in less than an hour.

To Apply:

Step 1: If you have a COS account, please sign in before applying. (Use the blue "Sign In" button on the top right of this page.) If you do not have a COS account, you can proceed to step 2, and one will automatically be created for you.

Physicians for COS

The diagnosis is clear.

We have a growing cancer today known as the Obamacare. As a result physicians are no longer free to practice medicine.

No profession feels the full force of the federal government more than physicians. The medical profession is the most highly regulated profession in the United States. The practice of medicine is controlled, taxed, and regulated to the point of being destroyed by the heavy hand of the federal government.

Physicians are told how to bill, how much to charge, and how to treat patients. They are mandated to use expensive electronic medical records. The federally enacted HIPPA (Health Information Privacy and Portability Act) makes the communication between physicians and atients burdensome, inefficient, and expensive. Every physician is required by federal mandate to register with the government to obtain an NPI (national provider identifier.) We are required by federal law to obtain and pay for a license to prescribe medication through the DEA, which is separate from our state licensure.

This heavy hand of government not only oversees the largest federal health bureaucracy ever created, but by extension reaches into every state, every city, and every small town to regulate how every licensed physician practices the art of medicine and how citizens obtain care.

The treatment is also clear.

The prescription for a cure was written into our constitution by our founders. Article V of our constitution allows for the states to call for a convention of states to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government through the proposal of constitutional amendments. Physicians should be the strongest supporters of this brilliantly-crafted states’ rights tool placed into our constitution by our founders.

I urge my fellow American physicians to join with me in supporting an Article V Convention of States to take back control of the practice of medicine. It’s the only way that we can return the practice of medicine back to the intimate relationship between a doctor and patient without interference by the heavy hand of a distant, national government.
