As has been the case for much of 2025, the Wild West is out in front in the race to become the 20th state to call for an Article V convention to reduce the size and scope of the federal government.
Today, February 24, Wyoming has a chance to really get ahead of the field when the House Education Committee holds a hearing to consider Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 1 -- the COS resolution -- at 2:00 p.m. ET/12:00 MT.

The Wyoming Senate has already done its part this legislative session. On January 28, the Senate voted 22-7 to pass the COS resolution.
“Our bill sailed through without objection, without debate,” said COSA Senior Vice President for Legislative Affairs Rita Peters following the vote.
Last year, Convention of States action President and Co-founder Mark Meckler twice visited Wyoming to spread the word about Article V and self-governance. Today, Wyoming can take a significant step toward adding its name to the roster of states who have made application to Congress to call an Article V convention.
