Would You Like to Join Our Legislative Liaison Team?

Published in Blog on January 30, 2018 by Michelle Laflamme

If you are a Convention of States supporter, chances are you pay closer attention to politics than the average citizen. That’s because you’ve come to realize that most of the people inside the DC beltway have lost all sense of self-control when it comes to spending and creating burdensome laws and regulations. And most have been at it for far too long.

When it comes to the state government, would you call yourself a legislative enthusiast? Do you pay close attention to the frantic two months of legislative activity in which our state lawmakers engage each year. Maybe you know just how important it is for our fellow civic minded supporters to learn and understand how the annual process of a legislative session works. If this is you, please consider joining our team of legislative liaisons. Could you help Convention of States Project grow the largest grassroots army of self-governing citizen activists this nation has ever seen?

As a legislative liaison you will help our grassroots by doing the following:

  • Learn how to navigate the State House and State Senate websites.
  • Teach them how to discover who their state lawmakers are based on which district they reside.
  • Inform them of the bills their legislators are sponsoring.
  • Provide information about when and why lawmakers meet and how we as citizens can participate in the process.
  • Assist in conducting a survey of both incumbent and new candidates on their position and view in regard to the Article V Process.
  • Arrange a townhall “homecoming” for legislators in your area after the session has ended. (you will be assisted by our events coordination team)
  • Most importantly, help those in our grassroots army understand their power of influence through petition and expressing their will to the legislative body.
If you can envision yourself doing these things and would like to learn how, please email our Chief Legislative Liaison, Gene Cloud at eugene.cloud@cosaction.com . Or you can just click this link and sign up.
