Convention of State’s grassroots movement to save America is ever-growing, and among our patriot leaders there is a recurring sentiment: they got involved because they could not sit by and do nothing any longer.
America has gone to hell in a handbasket. Many worry that their kids and grandkids have no prospects, no future country at all if We the People do not find a way to pull America back from the brink.
They reminisce about a time when politics wasn’t so divisive; government wasn’t so intrusive; insanity wasn’t so pervasive.
In the face of such high stakes, people tend to do one of three things: either they retreat into useless apathy, or they resort to useless whining and complaining, or they stand up and make a difference for their country. Convention of States volunteers have elected to do the latter. And as Thomas Paine would say, they deserve the love and thanks of man and woman.
“I’m a grandfather of four… and I cannot leave this mess with them,” said Rod, a patriot leader from Arkansas, at this year’s Reclaiming Liberty Summit. “I no longer golf. I no longer fish. I no longer hunt. I’m saving money doing what I want to do for COS,” he said, describing his estimable sacrifice of life, fortune, and sacred honor.
“It’s lots of hard work, but it’s very rewarding. And to not do it, you’re letting your future progeny down…. They will not have a country if we don’t do this,” a volunteer from Ohio noted, poignantly.
“When people ask me why did I get involved, I say ‘it just makes sense,’” another added. “I’m concerned for my grandchildren. And just listen to the options that we have. Do we have any other options? And once you hear that [an Article V Convention of States] is already in the Constitution, it’s already available to us, why not utilize it?”
“We’re living in a world, in a country where our systems are breaking down. Things are just breaking down,” said a third. “And I always tell them this is something that’s given me hope, and if you come along with us, I think you’ll find hope, too.”
The Founders would be proud.
These men and women are true American heroes. Just like so many before them, they may not be remembered by history, but that does not make their sacrifice any less notable or praiseworthy. History will remember what they accomplished. Future generations will talk about the price that they paid to preserve liberty.
The media has us fixated on bad news, the chaos of today’s culture. But every single day, everyday Americans are doing everyday deeds to keep this country afloat. It may feel like we are hanging on by a thread but for all of American history, there has not yet been a single generation that has given up on freedom.
And ours will not be the first.
But we need all hands on deck; to join us in this fight, sign the Convention of States petition below, and join the grassroots army today!
