America's ground-breaking Free Speech Movement launched in 1964 at UC Berkeley with its students famously protesting University administration censorship. The protests featured vigorous organizing and well-publicized large demonstrations.
Almost 60 years later, students on college campuses across the nation have become the censors. A new and more widespread threat to freedom is mounting. It urgently calls for strong push back from We the People.
Our Free Speech Movement requires all stripes of responsible citizens - not only students, and this time we are defending all of our American freedoms rather than just free speech.
The threat? An increasingly aggressive American socialist movement attacking all the pillars of America’s unique citizen government.
This dangerous movement of woke and interfering globalists has taken root in the current administration and it threatens our core strengths: our Constitution, rule of law, limited federal government, free-market capitalism, equal opportunity, strong national defense, and liberty in general.
The minority of Americans who favor socialism see attractive potential benefits like equity and free government services, but tend to downplay the rest of the story, which follows.
The Results Are In
The current administration and its allies exposed their naked socialist playbook early and the results in less than two years are disturbing. There is an ominous fabric of intent, not just incompetence and bad luck.
From the first day in office, the Biden administration overreached a narrow political margin to insidiously and sharply advance long, simmering, socialist dreams of an America under top-down control of the elites through initiatives like federalized voting, health care, green energy, education curricula, abortion laws, the internet, dangerous speech, and social scoring.
After years of being lulled alongside this expanding socialist movement, We the People are now seeing the naked ugly truth.
Tangible Damage in Under Two Years
Without a turnaround, we are on the brink of irreversibly losing our energy independence, free market economy, immigration control, rule of law, policing, and education of school children, in addition to free speech and our national discussion.
At the same time, this angry anti-American movement openly denigrates our history, Constitution, the Supreme Court, religion, gun rights, and patriotic culture. It perpetuates lies through the administration about COVID-19, voting practices, and racism.
To cap it all off, we have a cabinet of politicians uniquely inexperienced to solve any of these problems. Their reactions have portrayed a lack of focus and commitment, as well as surprising denial of the problems.
For a sense of the overall real-life damage, compare just a few indicators:
**Democrats 32%, Independents 69%, Republicans 89%
Americans are fed up with the daily train wreck crashing before their eyes. They place responsibility squarely upon the administration. A Yahoo News/YouGov poll this June reports about 1/2 of Americans have grave concerns about the future of our democracy. A Monmouth poll published this July shows 88% now see us on the wrong track.
Needed Action
Righting this perilous situation demands an all-out counter movement by responsible citizens. This in turn requires an informed public armed with actionable, unbiased information.
So back to free speech. Serious harm has been caused to US citizens by the suppression and distortion of information about critical issues, like COVID-19 or street fentanyl. This administration, aided by the media, obfuscates anything that might reflect on them poorly or get in their way. Look at how they are attempting to redefine "recession" as a way to pretend there isn't a recession. That's called gaslighting.
Recently, Louisiana and Missouri officials filed a lawsuit citing top figures in the Biden administration as defendants addressing selective censorship in social media. Administration officials cited include but are not limited to:
· Joe Biden
· Jen Psaki
· Anthony Fauci
· Alejandro Mayorkas
· Nina Jankowitz
Evidence indicates they have colluded with Big Tech, selectively striking out and suppressing content, labeling it as disinformation, misinformation and malinformation. They have been served with discovery subpoenas ordered by a federal judge, due by this August. Top social media firms are also being served for discovery: Twitter, Meta, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
On another front, we have also learned about whistleblowers reporting to Congress FBI corruption in the Hunter Biden laptop cover-up. More is expected on this.
Next Steps
How do We the People ramp up and support efforts like the above lawsuits and whistleblowers to effectively push back and get America on a recovery track? How do we subdue a runaway federal government bent on its own mission? We need multiple fronts:
1. Elections this November must reverse "woke" socialist antics in Congress to show that the people are fully “awake.”
2. We need a better way to communicate and gain information, through unfiltered forums, because most of the current media is not tracking the socialist movement.
3. We need to find our voice to offset false messaging from the woke cabal.
4. We need to buttress the Constitution and rule of law to protect it from this aggressive movement.
All stripes of common-sense citizens want this - Republican, Democrat, and Independent. Although socialism among Democrat voters is seen as less pejorative, it is mostly based on a desire for better treatment of the underprivileged rather than an attack on the American system of government. We need to join together and educate our neighbors on the true dangers of the global socialist war being waged upon our nation.
How Brilliant Were Our Founding Fathers
They considered the problem of an abusive ruling class and provided a way to act (covering points 2, 3, and 4 above).
Our most promising pathway to address today’s runaway federal government is an Article V Convention of States(COS). With over five million supporters nationwide, Convention of States has 19 of 34 states on board to convene an Article V Convention of States, with good progress in all remaining states.
COS is ideal in providing a platform to organize and connect unheard voices of the people through local politics. That platform then delivers the essential ways in each state to ratify support for the Convention of States Project.
The convention itself will focus on debating amendments to the Constitution to structurally constrain the federal government, as intended by the Constitution. This convention would only allow the states to propose amendments that do three things:
1) Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government
2) Impose fiscal restraints
3) Place term limits on federal officials.
