Shocking footage this week revealed the startling moment when Texas state troopers apprehended an illegal alien from Mexico, highlighting the importance of securing our border.
The video shows the trooper approach a pulled-over migrant’s truck and ask him for his license, insurance, and ID. The driver insists he lost all three. The trooper then notices several passengers concealed in the back seat and turns to open the bed of the truck.
To his shock, the cargo bed is packed with illegal immigrants, including two children. In total, 12 migrants, in addition to the driver, were found in the truck.
Additionally, the driver possessed cocaine and an illegal handgun. He now faces charges for smuggling, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and drug possession.
According to Chris Olivarez, Spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety, his teams have rescued over 900 children from similar smuggling operations.
Earlier this year, Convention of States Action organized a border rally at the Texas Capitol to bring attention to the humanitarian crisis on our southern border. Speakers included frontline fighters, who urged Texas lawmakers to pass legislation that would “confront” and “eradicate” cartels and officially declare a border invasion.
“Migrant women are raped by cartel members as part of their price for being smuggled... while 60% of unaccompanied alien children are caught by cartels and exploited through child pornography and drug trafficking,” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States.
“Add to that the 6 million illegal immigrants who have entered the U.S. in the last 3 years and you have… a humanitarian crisis. Yet Washington D.C. refuses to acknowledge this crisis. Now, with the federal government being derelict in its duty, states like Texas are taking the lead to address this crisis and secure our southern border.”
