Newly elected Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is off on a high note with his ingenious funding proposal for Israel. He’s prepared to reallocate existing funds designated to the mammoth IRS, a win-win for the American people.
He made it clear during a Tuesday interview with Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany that the financial aid wouldn't be created out of thin air, stressing fiscal responsibility as crucial to maintaining national strength. He proposes pulling $14.5 billion out of the existing $67 billion IRS and IRA fund in order to address the immediate and urgent needs of our Israeli allies.
The proposal reflects a strategic path to solving an immediate problem without overburdening the nation's financial resources. It shows a willingness to address both short and long-term challenges responsibly amid a growing mainstream recognition of today's national debt crisis.
“We're not just going to print money and send it overseas because the other concern we have that is overriding this is our own strength as a nation, which is tied to our fiscal stability,” Johnson said. “That's a big problem that we have as well. We have to keep it in mind as we try to help everyone else.”

He urged his colleagues to rise above political differences to pass a bill to provide assistance. However, some challenges could arise in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
Johnson is off to a positive start in proving his seriousness when it comes to reducing national spending while supporting our allies. By prioritizing the needs of the people and recognizing the importance of economic stability, he brings a balanced perspective to the debate.
Just one week into the job Johnson’s resisting the pattern of printing more nonexistent money by simply defunding the IRS. He’s providing a glimmer of hope for fiscal responsibility, but he also understands Convention of States is the true way to achieving far-reaching federal government limitations, as recently reported.
Johnson supports an Article V convention to successfully implement a balanced budget amendment and other power restraints on the federal bureaucracy. You can too by signing the petition below.
