The COSA PA Region 3 town of Bellefonte was honored with a talk by Senator Cris Dush – primary sponsor of SR77 - at its Convention of States Town Hall on Saturday, September 16, at Watermarke Church.
The Senator’s contagious passion for empowering the people, reducing big government oppression, and returning government to its Judeo-Christian roots was woven through his presentation. Occasionally alluding to leadership accounts in the Old Testament, he stressed the need for ethical, servant-style leadership but said more of the electorate needs to get involved to make that happen. “It’s a numbers game,” he said, referring to the fact that the numbers of passionate liberals too often dwarf those of complacent conservatives.
Senator Dush then answered numerous questions from the group of roughly thirty curious attendees. One person emphasized the importance of citizens taking on individual responsibility (i.e., educating people and getting them involved) instead of expecting government leaders alone to bring about change. (A very familiar message for COSA volunteers!) Senator Dush agreed and thanked him for making that point.
Please, take the time and listen to his inspirational remarks and wisdom yourself; the 100-minute video is well worth the time invested.
In addition to signatures on COSA petitions, twenty-five Article V COSA Pocket Guides were given out, and a sign-up list for a new Region 3 COSA PA Freedom POD – to be meeting at the same venue - was populated by a half-dozen signatures. (This list included the church audio-video technician who was helping and who hadn’t heard about COSA before).
Senator Dush, highly dedicated to Article V COS, voiced his support and said we could be expecting him at Pod meetings. Signees will be contacted about a meeting in October. There’ll be a lot more spreading of the COSA solution in Region 3!
