Spotlight on South Florida Activist Ed Vidal

Published in Blog on November 13, 2019 by Nancy Suits

American Priority organized a huge event nicknamed AmpFest2019. The event held in Miami early October 2019 encourages the support of Free Speech, Free Association, and to highlight American Culture. Their website with audio and video celebrity speakers is available here.

Ed Vidal, the South Florida Legislative Liaison (2015-present), was the speaker for Convention of States. The Convention of States Florida team provided educational materials and recruited petition signers in the main hallway. This three-day event brought many amazing speakers.

Ed Vidal is an experienced attorney, having worked for over 30 years in New York and Chicago firms. During his law firm career, he has worked on a wide range of corporate matters, including securities transactions, loan financings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, corporate governance and financial restructuring, as well as supervising litigation, FCPA, international trade, and bankruptcy matters. Mr. Vidal is a member of the bar in the States of Illinois (1981) and New York (1988).

Ed's activism expands into a variety of local community organizations including Convention of States. As a Legislative Liaison for South Florida, he is highly engaged in national and local politics. He serves as a poll watcher during elections and is ready for any topic. Mr. Vidal has an extensive knowledge of history and national events.

Thank you Mr. Vidal for being an engaged Citizen in South Florida. You represent how all of us should participate in our civic responsibility. Join us and see how youU can make a difference.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:

Thank you so much for your service to the people of our district.
