Mom fired from job after protesting ‘evil’ curriculum at school board meeting

Published in Blog on August 23, 2023 by Jakob Fay

Janet Roberson, California mom of three, is speaking up after she was fired from her job for voicing concerns at a school board meeting about radical gender curriculum for kids.

In April, Roberson spoke out against what she called “completely unacceptable and evil" LGBTQ+ educational materials in the Benicia Unified School District. Because of her controversial stand, left-wing activists in the state quickly targeted her, accusing her of being “racist, homophobic, [and] transphobic.” Calling her a bigot and a Nazi, Roberson’s persecutors began publicly identifying her as a Compass Real Estate employee, which Roberson believes was intended to pressure the company into firing her.

"Because I voiced my concerns about things like 10-year-olds being told in school that they can take puberty blockers, and I challenged the new curriculum that teaches children that boys can be girls and girls can be boys, the bullies in Benicia decided I should be fired," she said in a “Libs of TikTok” video, which, at the time of this writing, has racked up nearly five million views. "And you know what? Compass, a powerful national company who could have stood up for me and my American right to voice my opinion as a mom at a school board meeting, caved to the bullies' demands."

Watch the video below to learn more about Roberson’s story.

Courageously, despite already suffering severe consequences, Janet Roberson informed The Daily Wire in an exclusive interview that she has no intention of backing down from the fight.

“I would do it again,” she said. “For me to lose a job is horrible and not okay, but I would be willing to do it again. Absolutely. To speak the truth and to stand for freedom and for what our Constitution stands for — 100%.”

Janet Roberson serves as a perfect exemplar of self-governance in practice. Fighting for freedom and the safety of our children comes at a heavy cost; thankfully, brave patriot parents like Roberson are ready and willing to pay that price.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
