New polling data from The Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports indicates that over 20% of voters who utilized mail-in ballots in the 2020 election admit to engaging in some form of cheating.
A staggering one in five voters who utilized mail-in ballots during the 2020 election admit to completing a ballot on behalf of a friend or family member, including spouses or children. The revelation adds fuel to the ongoing discourse surrounding voter fraud, a topic that has permeated political discussions for years.
Key Poll Findings:
- 17% of mail-in voters admit that in 2020 they voted in a state where they are “no longer a permanent resident”
- 21% of mail-in voters admitted that they filled out a ballot for a friend or family member
- 17% of mail-in voters said they signed a ballot for a friend or family member “with or without his or her permission”
- 8% of likely voters say they were offered “pay” or a “reward” for voting in 2020
As the nation gears up for the 2024 presidential election, the significance of these findings cannot be overstated. The data emphasizes the need for states to assert their authority and implement robust measures to safeguard the electoral process.
When it comes to questioning the outcome of the election, 48% of Democrat likely voters believe media members who alleged election fraud should be “banned from public speaking,” receive prison time, or a combination of both.

While voters may look negatively at members of the media who contributed to voter fraud discussions, it’s a fundamental right to be able to engage in open discourse and question the government and its actions. As citizens champion the idea of penalizing individuals for their thoughts and speech in a free America, the future of the nation takes on a disconcerting and alarming tone.
The revelations from this poll serve as a wake-up call for both election integrity and freedom of speech and press under the First Amendment.
The responsibility falls on the states to step up and protect elections and speech. Convention of States is an organization that believes decisions are best made closer to home, which is why we’re fighting for states to reclaim their authority from the overbearing federal government.
