Convention of States Action co-founder and senior adviser Michael Farris was recently a guest on the "Montana Majority Report", a program hosted by Montana Senate Majority Leader Tom McGillvray.
Leader McGillvray, a self-described fiscal conservative, is a co-sponsor of House Joint Resolution 5 -- the COS resolution -- in the Montana legislature, and is particularly focused on the national debt and debt service.
Both men talk about how they came to support a limited-purpose Article V convention to reduce the size and scope of the federal government, why the states must curb the abuse of power of the federal government, and the agenda for a convention: fiscal restraints, term limits on federal officials, and restrictions on the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.
Watch and listen:
Take some time to enjoy this terrific conversation between two serious individuals who are dedicated to to first principles and fiscal responsibility.
