The political pressure valve that all Americans must unite behind

Is America headed for a Civil War? Not if Mark Meckler has his way.
Convention of States President Mark Meckler joined The Big Picture with Brett Craig on Friday to discuss today's political climate and the Article V solution to saving our Republic.
Pressure builds until a valved is released or an explosion occurs, Meckler and Craig discussed. After the Liberty Bell was forged, it cracked as a result of too much pressure.
When it comes to today's political climate, the pressure is bursting at the seams.
"What's caused the pressure, is that the federal government has grown bigger and bigger. When that happens, the individual grows smaller and smaller," said Meckler. "The more space that the government takes up, the less space for the individual and for the state as well."
Americans need relief, a pressure valve. A unique alleviation mechanism exists in the Constitution, Article V.
"This is that crack in the bell, to relieve pressure, that metaphor we're talking about. Our Founders understood we needed to do that," said Craig.
Article V allows the states to come together to be a check on the out of control federal government. Term limits, fiscal restraints, and limits to the size and power of the federal government can come from an Article V convention.

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.
What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.
I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.
I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here:

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
