Mark Meckler and Mark Levin on West Virginia becoming #18 to join Convention of States movement

Just a few hours after West Virginia passed the Convention of States Resolution to become state #18, Mark Levin invited Mark Meckler onto his radio show to discuss the victory.

"This is a very serious effort to try and get our Constitution back. We do not believe Washington, D.C., should be amending the Constitution every time they get together. We want to use the Constitution to protect the Constitution," Levin said.

As the movement grows even larger, Levin warned that the fearmongers would get even louder. Levin's advice? "Ignore them."

"They're the same reprobates that have always attacked our system. They hate our constitutional republic and then they pretend to defend it when they try to defeat these courageous movements," Levin said.

Mark named other states on the cusp of passage as well. South Carolina, Iowa, Ohio, and Pennsylvania could all pass by the end of their legislative sessions.

"Convention of States, I really want you to try and embrace it, folks," Levin concluded.

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention.
