Luggage thief paid outrageous salary while on administrative leave

Published in Blog on April 19, 2023 by Brianna Kraemer

Former Biden official Samuel Otis Brinton, a non-binary cross-dresser, was paid his six-figure government salary while facing felony charges in connection to an airport luggage theft.

Brinton was put on administrative leave last fall after becoming the suspect in two different luggage theft investigations. Working in the Office of Nuclear Energy in the Department of Energy, Brinton earned a salary of around $178,000.

According to documents obtained by Townhall, "the thieving "gender-fluid" federal government employee enjoyed regular pay and benefits for more than a month before he was given the boot by the Biden administration."

In an October memo addressed to Brinton, a DOE official wrote: "I hereby notify you that you are being placed on Administrative Leave, with pay, effective immediately."

Just last week Brinton was ordered to pay $3,670 to the victim in the Las Vegas robbery and the charges were downgraded from a felony to a misdemeanor.

The luggage theft investigation that occurred in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul airport in September 2022 is ongoing, but security footage clearly shows he swiped the luggage and proceed to travel to Europe with the stolen property. He could face five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

He is also under investigation in a 2018 robbery after a fashion designer saw her unique clothes on Brinton after losing her luggage at the D.C. airport five years ago.

This is the quality of the Biden administration. Taxpayer funds continued to flow into this criminal's hands even as he sat at home not working and under multiple investigations.

Clearly, quality over quantity is not the sentiment of this administration; it's more like absurdity over normality.

Convention of States is working to limit the power and wasteful spending in the federal government – permanently. Join the COS movement and sign the petition below to show your support.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
