Texas.
The very name of the state conjures thoughts of the independence symbolized by its Lone Star flag, and the hostility to overarching, liberty-stifling power that is woven into the fabric of its people.
Now, the story of how Texas passed the COS resolution to call an Article V convention that will return power to the people of the Lone Star State and all Americans will be told in the second installment of "The Story of..." series.
Written and produced by COS national staff writer Jakob Fay, this amazing series continues with the premiere of its second episode on February 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET that can be seen by clicking below:
This episode reveals how the COS resolution dramatically moved through the Texas legislature and passed on May 4, 2017, and is also a poignant tribute to the grassroots volunteers and legislative champions who made it happen.
As is the case in each state and as Jake deftly illustrates, the successful passage of the COS resolution was neither easy nor quick. The 125,000 COS Texas activists toiled for over three years, and conducted more than 400 meetings around the state, educating citizens and legislators alike about the Article V process.
This episode of "The Story of..." is also dedicated to the late Sammi Hammers, a truly legendary figure in the COS movement, who served the Texas team in several roles including District Captain, Regional Captain, and TelePatriot volunteer. This force of nature logged nearly 750,000 activist points. Sammi's grit and determination embodied Texas itself.
