Leverage the 2025 Momentum: COS Supporters, Let's Go!

Published in Blog on February 18, 2025 by Melissa Martin

Here's why you should pick up the phone, write an email, or draft a letter to your state legislators:

The Founding Fathers envisioned a government closer to We the People.

Legislators are elected to represent your interests. They need to hear from their constituents about the Convention of States resolution.  They also need to hear about your views on current issues, and legislation. In the 2024-2025 legislative session, the North Carolina legislature did not move the Convention of States resolution to the Senate. Your calls, emails, and letters are even more important now.

Why is it Important?

North Carolina has a history of standing up for freedom against tyranny. Why would we back down now? In 2025, it has the chance to join 19 other states that have passed the resolution in calling for a Convention of States. The resolutions in all 50 states have the same language.

The three topics of the Article V Convention of States Resolution are:

  • Limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government
  • Imposing fiscal restraints on the federal government
  • Setting term limits for congress and bureaucrats
