Idaho Legislative Surge Day – January 29, 2025

Published in Surge Article on January 10, 2025 by John Green

Concern about a federal government which no longer serves the will of the people, became a major theme of the 2024 election. Our state legislators have noticed, and recognition of a need to do something is growing.

With the swearing in of the new Idaho legislature, interest in taking a stand against federal overreach is on the upswing. Fortunately, our founders anticipated our current crisis, and provided a constitutional – and peaceful – means for the states to be our last line of defense against an out-of-control federal government. They gave us the second clause of Article V. The states merely need to choose to use it.

Convention of States – Idaho is planning a surge day for January 29, 2025, at the State Capital. We’ll use that day to encourage our new legislature to join the 19 other states, which have joined forces to “realign the behavior” of our public servants in Washington.

Hundreds of Article V supporters will meet with Idaho legislators to articulate our concerns about the federal government, hear their concerns about an Article V convention, and explain how they can serve us by supporting our resolution.

You can be part of this historic day. We welcome all of those concerned about the future of our republic to join us at the capital on the 29th. You can support this critical initiative by:

  • Writing to your legislators – expressing your support for an Article V convention.
  • Meeting with your legislators – to explain how a convention would work, and what safeguards are in place.
  • Being present to give the legislators visible evidence that this is a growing grassroots movement with broad support.
