More than fifty years ago, Buddy J. Wolfe Jr. swore to support and defend the Constitution when he enlisted in the Army in 1971, serving in the Armor Division. It is an oath he thoroughly believes never expires. Now, as a disabled veteran, he has found an innovative way to continue honoring that oath.
In 2018, Buddy saw a Facebook post about the effort to call a Convention of States (COS) to return powers to the states as granted in the constitution. He was so impressed by the COS effort, he wanted to give it his full support by becoming a District Captain. Unfortunately, health challenges derailed his initial plan to support COS.
Buddy was injured during a training exercise to prepare for the rescue of hostages during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. Since that time, he has repeatedly beat cancer. Buddy is now cancer free, but frequently needs his wheelchair to get around.
With the admirable support of his youngest son, Joshua, who also serves as his VA caregiver, Buddy is determined to continue supporting and defending the constitution.
We recently caught up with Buddy for a quick interview at a Jeep event in Mt. Dora, Florida, which he and his son referred to as their test run.
Buddy is now focusing on being a Jeep enthusiast, enjoying life in retirement, and supporting COS by engaging with American citizens and spreading awareness.
He and Joshua are going to be setting off to see the country, attending various Jeep events along the way. Their goal is to encourage people they meet to support the Article V Convention of States at every stop. Buddy will also be posting his adventures from the road on his personal Facebook page, Buddy J. Wolfe Jr., if you would like to follow his progress.
Buddy will officially be kicking off his Jeep inspired adventure at the Jeep Beach 2023 event in Daytona, Florida, April 23-30. Those who attend can look for the COS flags flying on the back of Buddy’s Jeep in the middle of the NASCAR stadium infield. Take a moment to stop by and visit with this inspirational disabled veteran and show your support.
