We knew it wouldn't be long before government authorities spotted another household item to restrict in the name of the environment.
This year alone, we've highlighted bans on lightbulbs, lawn equipment, and gas stoves, but we never predicted the next item would be wood-fired ovens.
To supposedly maintain healthy air quality in New York City, officials have proposed a measure to restrict the use of wood-fired ovens, an essential to many pizzerias in the city. Restaurants would be required to cut carbon emissions by 75%, which could entail purchasing a $20,000 air filter to meet the new rule.
One New Yorker livid at the potential law took to city hall to protest the latest government example of overreach.
"Give us pizza or give us death," the man yelled as he threw slices of pizza over a gate. "Destroying every small business, that's what this city keeps doing. Can't have a small business, can't have pizza. New York City is nothing without pizza."
As cops showed up, the man said like the Boston Tea Party, this is the New York City Pizza Party.
The New York Pizza Party, Shity Hall NYC.

The government doesn't stop coming after our food, energy, health, and foundational aspects of our everyday life – dubbed as "infrastructure." The more the government comes after our personal property, the more it becomes clear we don't have the liberty once possessed in America.
As COS previously asked, when are the positive effects of banning our items and shrinking our freedoms shared, or proven, by Washington politicians? We can count on never seeing that data.
We can, however, expect the federal government to keep coming after our property until we stand up and say no more. Convention of States is all about standing up for the people, against the Washington bureaucracy. Support COS by signing the petition below.
