Four quick-start action tools for Convention of States supporters

Published in Blog on August 06, 2019 by Edward Douglas Thompson

To improve your understanding of the Convention of States Project and ability to explain it to others, here four easy, quick-start action tools.

1. Prager University Video

For a quick video synopsis, check out the PragerU video "How the States Can Save America," narrated by former Sen. Jim DeMint. In six short minutes, you will learn:

    • how much the federal government has grown from 1965 up to 2016
    • how the government has increased the debt
    • why Convention of States is not a partisan issue, but it's a "who controls your life" issue
    • why we fought the America Revolution
    • current politicians are transforming their oath of public service into a career
    • how much the debt has gone up since you started watching
    • the size and scope of the threat we face
    • what we can do about all of this (thanks to Col. George Mason's insight, during our nation's founding).

2. Intro to COS Presentation

This 15-minute video overview of the entire Convention of States process is viewable as an introduction video to our new, interactive Intro to COS Presentation. The core structure of the presentation includes ...

    • The Problem
    • The Solution
    • How it Works
    • Our Strategy
    • Get Involved

3. The Article V Convention of States Pocket Guide

The Article V Convention of States Pocket Guide is available for download from our home page at www.conventionofstates.com. You can see how handy this particular tool is by looking over its table of contents:

  • page 1 ... Who Decides?
  • page 4 ... Article V of the U.S. Constitution
  • page 6 ... The Problem
  • page 11 ... Support for a Convention of States
  • page 18 ... Answers to Common Questions
  • page 23 ... Overcoming Objections From the Opposition
  • page 29 ... Convention of States Model Application
  • page 30 ... Amendments to Consider at a Convention of States
  • page 32 ... Convention of States Simulation
  • page 34 ... About Convention of States Action (COSA)
  • page 40 ... Convention of States Petition

4. Frequently Asked Questions

To find the answer to a question you have or to find a good response to a criticism, a compilation is available here. There are links to four key documents covering just about any topic involved. Here is a quote from that page:

On our Opposition Response page, you'll find four documents that pose and answer questions about Article V:

1. Frequently Asked Questions

2. Short Answers to Common Article V Questions

3. Answers to Questions Posed by the John Birch Society

4. Real Answers to Article V Questions.

These documents, in varying degrees of detail, answer most any Article V question. Is the Article V process safe? Who controls a Convention of States? If the federal government does not obey the current Constitution, why would they obey an amended version?

All of these questions and more are addressed in these four documents.
