The Department of Justice, the weaponized legal wing of the current administration, violated its own core values.
Though the DOJ’s mission statement vows “to uphold the rule of law,” and its core values insist on “impartiality,” actions speak louder than words.
In response to the codified pursuit of justice within the judicial system, the DOJ appealed a Texas judge’s decision in order to freeze the judge’s order.
The DOJ sided with an abortion pill manufacturer against the Texas decision, which would revoke the FDA’s approval of the abortion pill known as mifepristone.
Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement, “The Justice Department strongly disagrees with the court’s unprecedented decision to do that in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA.”
Furthermore, Garland promised to now ask the Supreme Court for “emergency relief” to decide the dispute.
This is not the first time the DOJ has proved itself a partisan machine.
A short while ago, pro-life father of seven, Mark Houck, was arrested and prosecuted by the DOJ for defending his son outside an abortion clinic, facing up to 11 years in jail time. Much to the department’s disappointment, he was acquitted.
The same agency recommended zero jail time for a man dressed as a woman, who was caught vandalizing a Catholic church, before assaulting a staff member, in the wake of the Dobbs decision.
This federal agency does not serve the American people.
It serves the president as a praetorian guard, deployed against his enemies.
It serves to stomp out any opinion unapproved of by the ruling elite.
It serves to intimidate and punish Americans who go against the status quo.
And We the People cannot even vote them out of office.
This kind of overbearing bureaucracy has no place in a freedom-loving, self-governing Republic. By calling an Article V convention, the people of this nation could limit the power the unelected members of the DOJ hold. The time is now, while we are still free to do it.
