A Message from Mike Rilee, State Director - District 19

As I write this, the news is coming in from Florida about the impact of Hurricane Ian. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those in the path and wake of this terrible storm.

I hope that our political leaders can set aside the passions of faction and remember their duty under the authority of our state and federal constitutions, and as servants of the citizenry, to bring aid to those thrust into dire need by the storm.

September has been a momentous month for Maryland supporters of Convention of States outreach activities across the state. Our COS volunteers have been setting up booths, holding meetings, and teaching citizenship classes--all to help us become better citizens and reclaim self-governance. A few of the events we've supported...

  • St. Mary's County Fair
  • Anne Arundel County Fair
  • Worcester County Fair
  • Hunter's Bash
  • COSA Montgomery County Meeting
  • COSA Howard County Meeting

We haven't entered all of the new petition signers to our system, it looks like we might clear 500 new supporters in Maryland when we do!

And we have more events in the pipeline for October. Check out our new upcoming events page at https://cosa-md.info/MeetingsAndEvents, conceived and generously maintained by Followup Team member Chandler Simon!

Attending a meeting or volunteering at an event is a great way to learn about COS and build up a network of friends and fellow patriots, who will help each other weather the storms that will come our way.

If you haven't stopped by our COS University, stop by and check out the introductory courses that are available to all. "COS 100 Intro to Convention of States" and "COS 200 Responding to Opposition" are the best places to start. Refer these to friends, families, and neighbors so they can better understand the power in the hands of every US Citizen.

Finally, check out our upcoming events page for more information about our door-to-door blockwalking effort. COSA-MD is putting together a team to raise awareness and get signatures in critical areas of the state.

If blockwalking isn't for you, we are also building a massive nationwide phone team, also known as our TelePatriot team. Download the COS Action App, which is a shortcut to COS news and connections, and more functions are being added as COS grows!

There are many great ways to get involved, and there is plenty to do. If you've contacted us and it's taken some time to get back to you, we ask and are grateful for your patience. Please realize it's because we're all volunteers and there are many great patriots just like you who are getting involved, and it takes some time to give everyone the attention they deserve.

Thanks again for your support for reclaiming self-governance in Maryland! Take a look at our upcoming events, and I hope to see you at an upcoming meeting or event soon!

For Liberty!

InspiredtoAction

April 26, 1926 - September 8, 2022

Queen Elizabeth always had a close relationship with the United States, a reflection of the special kinship between the Great Britain and its first independent colony. The monarch participated in key commemorations in US history, from the 200th anniversary of the our Declaration of Independence in 1976 to the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, the foundation of the first British colony on North American soil. Her speech after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks moved the people of our shocked nation.

We're inspired by the actions of our Maryland supporters - those who are sound of heart. We're on pace to surpass 32,000 petition signers in 2022. Our progress since 2018 looks like this:

YEAR
YEARLY SIGNERS
SIGNERS TO DATE
2018 3,536 13,315
2019 3,580 16,895
2020 4,313 21,208
2021 5,934 27,142
2022 2,495 29,637

The more signatures we gather, the more our Maryland state legislators recognize the strength of our cause. Your SIGNED PETITION goes directly to your Maryland legislators so they know its importance to you.

Contact your legislators & candidates to let them know you support the Article V Convention of States resolution.
