Convention of States Foundation is offering the ultimate grassroots experience!

Published in Spread the Word Blog on June 21, 2024 by COSA PA Comms Team

Convention of States Foundation is partnering with Patriot Academy and hosting an Article V experience from September 17 to 19, 2024, in Comfort, Texas. Grassroots volunteers from the COSA state teams will act as commissioners to understand how an Article V convention for proposing constitutional amendments will operate.

Convention of States Foundation hosted the first-ever simulated Article V Convention in 2016. This second simulated Article V convention for proposing amendments was held in 2023 to demonstrate to the nation that this process offers a meaningful solution to Washington, D.C.'s dysfunction.

If you missed the last meeting, here are some videos to watch to understand better what occurred:

This educational opportunity will allow the state grassroots volunteers to experience the proceedings firsthand and bring this knowledge back to their teams to help motivate others to become self-governing again. It will also allow the volunteers to test a set of model convention rules crafted by Robert Natelson and Michael Farris, the nation's leading Article V scholars.

COSA PA would love to invite every patriot in the Commonwealth to attend, but unfortunately, the seating for this event is limited to about 100 volunteers (two per state team).

COSA PA can open the process of writing the commissions the delegates will use while at the convention (just as the state legislature will do when the actual convention gets called) to anyone interested.

COSA PA will host five one-hour Zoom calls to hear input from Pennsylvania patriots on what amendments they would like to see get approved by the convention:

  • Monday. July 1st, 7 PM - amendments restricting federal power and jurisdiction
  • Monday, July 8th, 7 PM - amendments imposing fiscal restraints on the federal government
  • Monday, July 15th, 7 PM - amendments limiting the terms of office for federal officials
  • Monday, July 22nd, 7 PM - instructions to commissioners and
  • Monday, July 29th, 7 PM - voting on the language of proposed amendments Pennsylvania sends to the convention

Everyone is invited to attend and offer input; these discussions should give everyone involved a good understanding of the rules and how this meeting will operate. It is time to put the fear, lies, and misconceptions to rest once and for all.

As a starting point, here are the six proposals that passed out of the simulated convention.

This event will be costly. Click the link to learn how to donate to help defray the costs and put your money where your mouth can be if you participate in our Zoom meetings.

Additionally, COSA PA is looking for sponsors to raise the necessary funds to send our delegates:

  • Platinum - $500
  • Gold - $250
  • Silver - $100
  • Bronze - $50
  • Patriot - $10

All sponsors will be recognized at every event COSA PA attends for the following year.
