Citrus County, a great place to live

Published in Blog on June 23, 2022 by Pat McCray

Citrus County is a GREAT place to live!

When excitement calls, so do the many options, from manatee watching, to boating or swimming. How about a great game of golf or a hike in sunny Florida's natural surroundings? Perhaps the adventure awaits via the world of flavors from crab and seafood fresh off the boat. The southern home cooking or any variety of international and local cuisine are just minutes away.

Whether you are a visitor or a resident, year round festivals and events, new experiences, places of worship and more can be found in Citrus County.

If you do happen to be a visitor, you may decide to call sunny Florida "home" once and for all. My husband and I did just that as we parted ways with Michigan and named Citrus County, Florida our home

Florida's population is growing at a rapid pace, as residents can attest.  Because of this, it is important to preserve Florida as we come to find it.  Could Florida be better? Perhaps, as nothing is ever perfect, but for me, Florida is pretty close.

Current residents of Citrus County can keep it that much nearer to perfect by being proactive. Educating ourselves and engaging with each other and the leaders in our communities is time well-invested. Something to consider  is attending meetings conducted by the school board, city counsel or city board. The Citrus County calendar provides the time and location of most meetings and events.

There are also many roles waiting to be filled by volunteers. One way to find your calling is to do an internet search with "volunteering in citrus county FL." I found my calling to pursue, signed up and I find it very rewarding. You will be amazed at the numerous activities and projects awaiting you.

If the big picture is what you seek and want to help Florida retain its opportunity, prosperity and leisure, explore the Convention of States project to learn how you can get involved.

A Convention of States, in accordance with Article V of the U.S. Constitution, will return the power to the states, where it belongs. I volunteer with the Convention of States Project as a District Captain in HD-34, Citrus County. If you too are a seeker and a keeper of liberty, I would love to have you join our team!
