Biden said over the weekend that the COVID-19 pandemic is over, dismissing the current data that would’ve forced the nation into another lockdown two years ago.
“The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with COVID. We're still doing a lot of work on it,” Biden said in a “60 Minutes” interview with CBS. “If you notice, no one's wearing a mask, everybody seems to be in pretty good shape.”
While the mask claim rings true across a large segment of the country, traveling through cities like New York shows an alternative, where the people still fear for their lives in response to government-instilled messaging.
Regardless of the failing reputation and inaccuracies of the CDC, looking at just a few of their recently reported data points shows this decision is either not about COVID, health and safety at all, or it reveals that it was never.
The CDC reports as of September 16 a rate of 128 cases per 100,000 people. Over the entirety of the pandemic, the case rate has fluctuated way above and way below this rate.
In January of this year after about a year of steady vaccinations, the case rate spiked astronomically to 1,710. However, when the rate fell drastically to 66 cases per 100,000 in April – less than right now – the CDC extended its federal mask mandates on planes and trains.
In summary, there were less COVID-19 cases than right now and the executive branch continued to interweave its tentacles into Americans' lives. But now, Biden says it's all over... Are they choosing to not follow the science now, or was the science never followed to begin with?
Just five months later and with a higher rate, no masks and COVID crisis procedures are necessary and Biden’s remarks are meant to encourage the remaining fearful to take off their face protection. Not to mention the new variants, what happened to those?
Throughout the course of the health care scare, case rates dropped as low as 24 cases per 100,000 and rose as high as 1,710 per 100,000. Who’s to say these numbers won’t keep fluctuating, as sicknesses always do when we enter a new season of the year?
Notably, the compiled data available to the public on the CDC’s website is extremely difficult to navigate and not created for efficiency and accessibility. Some pages are updated while other pages show dated information, and one must jump through page after page to find desired information.
The President's assertion that the pandemic is over comes after about 80% of the U.S population has received one COVID-19 shot and about 68% of Americans have been classified as fully vaccinated. It’s all over despite reported cases today that are also far above the daily figures back in the lockdown phase of 2020.
Did the vaccine help or is it causing more damage than good? It was at least a made-up segue into the post-COVID world.
For some reason, Biden and the elite have decided it’s time to move on. Maybe that’s for a few months before another surprise scare emerges, or maybe a few years. In either case, there’s no doubt there’s strategic thinking behind this political move, as it simply doesn’t add up.
Are we supposed to celebrate the fact that the government is temporarily loosening its grip after drastically transforming our lives for the past two and a half years?
Definitely not. The COVID era has uncovered just how deep and untrustworthy our institutions truly are, an eye-opening learning experience for many of us. We now wait hesitantly for the bureaucrats to do it all over again. At this point, we know nothing is stopping them.
One of the only things the elite are clearly worried about is a Convention of States, because they have no control over it. It's become increasingly difficult to fight back against the political corruption that's occurring on both a national and global level, but it can be done through activism in the grassroots.
