Biden says the government needs more money for "second pandemic"

Published in Blog on June 22, 2022 by Jakob Fay

President Joe Biden recently announced his administration needs “more money to plan for the second pandemic,” stating plainly that “there's going to be another pandemic."

His remarks came in response to a question about vaccinating young children to which he replied that the government would need more money for COVID-19 vaccines for children but also more money for an upcoming pandemic. While it’s not entirely clear what the President was referring to, many worry that he may be referencing monkeypox and that the government may use this to justify another expanse of power.

A recent Convention of States Action and Trafalgar Group poll revealed that “56 percent of American voters say they don’t trust that the Biden Administration and Dr. Fauci will handle the monkeypox outbreak properly.”

“Voters have only begun to understand just how bad the disastrous mismanagement of the COVID-19 Pandemic was, and yet the same team who caused this chaos is now running point on Monkeypox,” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action. “Common sense is a greater factor than partisanship, which is why this poll finds that less than half of Democrats–who have historically been supportive of Dr. Fauci as well as the leader of their party–have a high level of trust in these leaders on this issue.”

Many noticed that Biden’s comments about the “second pandemic” seemed less like a warning that there might be another pandemic but more of a frank statement that there will be another one.

"Here's the Biden Administration telling us they are planning to hold another pandemic, almost as if they can control the disease,” tweeted conservative radio host Tara Servatius. “3 weeks ago, Fauci announced it would occur in the fall ... which corresponds perfectly with the midterm election."

"Sounds like a threat," The Federalist CEO Sean Davis observed.

The federal government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic proved that it has too much power. The American people are understandably wary of the Biden administration’s ability to employ that power again.

Convention of States Action is hard at work to bring back self-governance and with a grassroots army of more than five million supporters and volunteers, COS is well on its way.

Biden, Fauci, and the rest of Washington D.C. will never bridle their power to control our lives and may even use a health “crisis” to grow that power. If we want to keep them within bounds, We the People must use Article V to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
