Steve Deace & Mark Meckler: Biden’s attempting to bait conservatives to act out

Published in Blog on September 07, 2022 by Article V Patriot

The attempts to silence and vilify conservative Americans by the White House could lead to fascism, the Blaze’s Steve Deace and COSA President Mark Meckler discussed Tuesday.

Deace, a COS endorser, reacted to Biden’s speech from last week where the president gave a dark and twisted address that sparked outrage across the country. The Biden administration has sprung into offense in a clearly uniformed attack on supposedly dangerous “MAGA Republicans.”

This communications strategy was heard even before Biden’s speech by other members of the White House. Instead of continuing on the defense, Biden’s team clearly whipped into attack mode ahead of midterm elections.

“The desecration of Independence Hall last Thursday – that's what I'm calling it, I mean, it really was a desecration. That wasn't a speech. I can't think of a moment in American history, where a national political leader spoke about a large segment of our own people the way that he did,” said Deace. “I thought it was a cynical attempt to bait our people into acting out worse than whatever they were entrapped into on January the sixth.”

The formation of fascism begins with liberals’ utopian schemes, Meckler explained. Mussolini, the founder of fascism, advocated for everything inside the state, nothing outside the state and importantly, nothing against the state.

“Joe Biden used all the symbology of a fascist, rising government,” Meckler said. “He used fascist language, he vilified his opponents in a way that essentially potentially leads to genocide. I mean, what he's doing is dehumanizing the opposition, saying that the opposition must be silenced, pushed from the political square."

What to do? Meckler and Deace both agreed there is another option for those that feel hopeless, skeptical of voting and fed up with the system: Calling a Convention of States is the answer.

Skeptics must answer one question as proposed by Deace: “If you're worried about losing our Constitution, tell me exactly what part of it we have retained right this minute. I mean, it's a dead letter to at least half of this country right now.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
