Biden blocked antibody treatment to Texas and Florida. Now, those states are running out of options.

Published in Blog on December 29, 2021 by Article V Patriot

You may remember back in September when the Biden administration cut off the supply of lifesaving monoclonal antibody treatment to states like Texas and Florida.

Supposedly, the move was designed to make distribution of the drugs more "equitable." In reality, Biden was trying to punish states that refused to get on board with his vaccine-mask-lockdown agenda and instead wanted to offer their residents a broader range of treatment options.

Now, that decision is coming home to roost.

Five urban centers in Texas announced yesterday that they have run out of the COVID antibody treatment, and they won't be able to get more for several weeks. Likewise, the Florida surgeon general slammed the Biden administration for cutting off their supply of the lifesaving treatment even as the Omicron variant surges.

"The federal government is actively preventing the effective distribution of monoclonal antibody treatments in the U.S.," Florida Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladopo. "The sudden suspension of multiple monoclonal antibody therapy treatments from distribution to Florida removes a health care provider’s ability to decide the best treatment options for their patients in this state. This shortsightedness is especially evident given that the federal government effectively prohibited states from purchasing these monoclonal antibodies and serving their populations directly."

President Joe Biden is playing politics with peoples' lives. His politically motivated policies will cause the deaths of Americans in Texas, Florida, and any other state that hasn't been able to receive the antibody treatment. As Texas Gov. Greg Abbott pointed out, this directly contradicts the president's vow to help states fight the Omicron surge.

It's time to put the federal government back in its place. Joe Biden believes that all he has to worry about is the next election, and he knows he can rely on his base of supporters to vote for him no matter what.

But a Convention of States gives us another, more powerful way to hold the president accountable.

An Article V Convention of States is called and controlled by the states and has the power to propose constitutional amendments. These amendments can limit the power, scope, and jurisdiction of the federal government and significantly limit the president's ability to act unilaterally.

With this complete package of amendments in place, the president will become what the Framers intended him to be: little more than an administrator who is tasked with enforcing only the laws passed by the peoples' representatives in Congress.

He will no longer have the power to issue executive orders or nationwide mandates. He will be forced back into his constitutional box where he will only have the authority to control those topics expressly mentioned in the Constitution (healthcare isn't in there, in case you're wondering).

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
