As border crisis grows, HUGE majority of Americans express doubt Biden will do anything to stop it

Published in Blog on March 22, 2022 by Article V Patriot

The crisis at the southern border is set to reach historic proportions. Thanks to this administration's open borders rhetoric, the Department of Homeland Security is predicting a massive surge at the border as the weather becomes warmer.

The DHS is so worried that it's calling on its employees to volunteer their time to help with the crisis, and this year's numbers could exceed last year's record-shattering number of border crossings and apprehensions.

Is President Joe Biden going to do anything to stop it? The American people don't think so, according to a new poll from Convention of States Action and the Trafalgar Group.

The poll found that 65% of Americans do not believe President Biden will fulfill his State of the Union Address promise to secure the southern border. This includes 76.6% of Republicans and 89.1% of Democrats.

“While the Russia-Ukraine war dominates the headlines, the worst border crisis in American history continues to rage unabated. When President Biden promised to deal with the problem he created in his State of the Union address, we wanted to see if the American people believe he’s serious about securing the border,” said Mark Meckler, President of Convention of States Action. “Clearly, President Biden promised to secure the border because he sees his devastating poll numbers on this crisis, and these numbers reveal that voters see through this charade and expect decisive action–not platitudes–to safeguard our nation. The Administration would be well-served to call the American people’s bluff in this poll and actually do something."

The border crisis is top of mind for many Americans, but it's not the only thing they don't believe the federal government is capable of solving. From healthcare to energy to education, none of the issues that truly matter to the American people are being addressed by our "leaders" in Washington.

That's why millions have joined the Article V Convention of States movement. A Convention of States is called and controlled by the states -- not Congress, the president, or the Supreme Court. This convention has the power to propose constitutional amendments that fix our nation's most pressing issues, reduce federal power, and impose fiscal restraints on Congress.

We can't wait for politicians like Joe Biden to fix our country. We have to take matters into our own hands, and we can do it with an Article V Convention of States.

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
