Air Force teams up with... a drag queen?!

Published in Blog on June 05, 2024 by Jakob Fay

The world is at war… and our armed forces are preparing by reading “The HIPS on the DRAG QUEEN Go Swish, Swish, Swish” and playing bingo with a man dressed in drag.

I wish I could say I was joking.

According to conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act show that the United States Air Force hosted drag events, including drag queen story hour and drag bingo, using taxpayer funds.

Tim Huelskamp, senior adviser to CatholicVote, which partners with Judicial Watch, noted that the U.S. Department of Defense pushed back on releasing documentation about Pride events on military bases for “an entire year” and “finally returned materials from just one command in one branch,” suggesting that other branches are likely engaged in similar activities.

The report reveals that over the past several years, the Air Force has hired drag queens for drag bingo on a military installment in England, drag karaoke, and a drag queen story hour in Germany (this event appears to have been canceled due to intense public backlash).

“The Department of Defense has once again proven that radical leftist ideology is more important than military preparedness and protecting Americans from tangible threats at home and abroad,” Huelskamp lamented.

“How on Earth is it appropriate to spend our limited defense dollars on promoting these sexually themed events for children and adults, rather than on advancing the military's mission?” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton asked.

It goes without saying that the military should encourage and support those practices that bolster and uplift the physical, mental, and moral strength of the men and women who honorably fight to defend this country. Famously, George Washington banned cursing, “that unmeaning and abominable custom,” in his army, positing that “we can have little hope of the blessing of Heaven on our arms if we insult it by our impiety and folly.” Well, Washington’s quest for impeccable language in the army may be a lost cause, but the principle still stands.

Military excellence necessitates moral excellence. Clearly, using taxpayer money to promote adult sexual entertainment on military bases is not conducive to those ends. Of course, as taxpayers, you and I should have a say in how our money is being spent—especially when it is being squandered on “woke” causes contrary to our values (last year, according to National Review, the DOD requested $144 million for “diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility” programs).

So, unless you want our soldiers reading books about a drag queen’s pendulating pelvis, might I suggest that you join us in our fight for fiscal responsibility and government accountability? Sign the Convention of States petition below to get started!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
