That statement was made famous by Marine General Chesty Puller during the Korean War Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. Despite being completely surrounded by ten Communist Chinese divisions, Chesty’s Marines fought a brilliant retreat action that saved all Marine, Army and Korean divisions involved. Their tenacity and courage in the face of overwhelming odds was a major contribution to the creation of South Korea.
Like those Marines it is easy for most Americans to feel completely surrounded by hostile forces. We look at the deterioration of law, economics and language in our nation and are tempted to despair.
Florida, like Chesty’s Marines, is showing the USA what can be done when patriots unite in the face of adversity. In just 60 days the Florida legislature sent to the governor’s desk:
• Tort reform
• ESG ban on public investing
• Ban on political discrimination in lending
• Elimination of DEI in state universities
• Election system integrity improvements
• Elimination of municipal “living wage” encroachments
• Constitutional carry
• Gender transition ban for minors
• School choice expansion
Despair is being overcome right here in Florida by the tenacity and courage of our citizens and elected officials. Chesty would say: we are simplifying things.
COSA encourages ALL US citizens, regardless of political or cultural alignments, to forge relationships with their town, city, county, and state representatives.
