'A country that inspires patriots to defend it rather than one that makes them want to throw up': The real reason U.S. Military facing recruiting crisis

Published in Blog on July 21, 2022 by Jakob Fay

Over the past few months, it has become apparent that the U.S. Military is experiencing a recruiting crisis. According to CNN, “[t]he US Army is now projecting that for the next two years it will massively fail to recruit as many troops as it hoped, falling short by nearly 40,000 new recruits.”

Some are trying to blame this huge decrease on the effects of Covid-19. Remote learning, for example, has allegedly “lowered scores on the armed services aptitude test by as much as 9%” and resulted in decreased physical preparedness. In addition, it has also brought fewer would-be recruits into contact with military information booths which are common on school campuses.

Others, however, are attributing the drop in new recruits to an increase in military “wokeness” which has surged since Biden took office.

Convention of States previously reported that the Navy celebrated Pride Month by instructing sailors on how to use pronouns to affirm someone’s identity. COS also revealed that the US Army was considering a “compassionate reassignment” policy that would enable soldiers to request to be relocated from states that “discriminated” against their LGBTQ identity.

The US Army also ran a recruiting ad featuring a young girl, raised by two mothers, attending a pride parade and lesbian wedding. And of course, in addition to all of this is the fact that Biden appointed a biological man, Rachel Levine, to be the first “female” four-star admiral in the Commissioned Corps.

Taking it all into consideration, it’s no surprise at all that military recruitments are down. “Maybe it’s better having a country that inspires patriots to defend it, rather than one that makes them want to throw up,” journalist Dave Reaboi noted.

I previously argued that pursuing a radical LGBTQ agenda would be harmful to our military and, subsequently, harmful to the American people–and the Army’s recruiting crisis proves it true. Unfortunately, we can not depend on the federal government or this current administration to get our military back on track.

Convention of States is just what we need to rein in the Biden Administration and prove once and for all that We the People won’t put up with the woke nonsense perverting our military. Show your support by signing the COS petition and getting involved in this historic cause today!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
