Spread the Word

So many people are frustrated with the Federal Government, yet they don't know what can be done about it.

An Article V Convention of States to limit the power and scope of the federal government resonates with folks, because they have seen that electing the right people doesn't solve the problem. The problem is structural!

Informing our fellow citizens of the Convention of States movement and the Article V process is a truly rewarding experience. We offer a solution as big as the problem, and it's a message well-received by just about everyone.

There are many ways to spread the word about Convention of States. You are only limited by your imagination. The great thing about it is that it's non-partisan! There is some negative propaganda about having a Convention of States and some misplaced fears as a result, but when you educate yourself, you'll find most people receptive to the idea.

Some of the best conversations you'll have are with people who are skeptical at first. Self-governance is and always will be an American ideal that the vast majority of Americans will agree upon.

There are many resources available to you to help you get informed, so that you may have confidence when speaking about this movement.

Visit our Get Informed page to get a grasp of the basics and the information available to you.

Social Media

Social media is one of the best ways to spread the word, and you don't have to leave your couch to do it! Here are some ideas:

  • Share Convention of States social media posts on your personal account.
  • Tell people about Convention of States and post links to our site whenever you see people complaining about the federal deficit or discussing term limits or the leviathan that is the federal government. These could be in comments on articles or other people's social media posts.

Friends, Family, and Neighbors

If you have people close to you that you think might be interested in knowing about our movement, let them know. The Convention of States Action resolution has already passed in 15 states. Let them know we are a growing movement and there are real volunteers in their area that they could connect with.

Attend a Meeting or Event

The District Captain in your area typically has regular meetings that are announced by email. Attend a meeting and get to know them. We also hold various events across the state that are also announced via email.

You are always welcome to attend and bring anyone with you. This is a great way to meet the other supporters and volunteers of Convention of States. It's always a great time, and you are always welcome!

Request a Presentation

We would be happy to come present to you! Whether you have a club, association, or just a group of friends, family, or neighbors, we are willing to come and explain the movement and answer any questions. You don't have to be the one to have all the answers. We are here to help and would love to do just that.

Physicians for COS

The diagnosis is clear.

We have a growing cancer today known as the Obamacare. As a result physicians are no longer free to practice medicine.

No profession feels the full force of the federal government more than physicians. The medical profession is the most highly regulated profession in the United States. The practice of medicine is controlled, taxed, and regulated to the point of being destroyed by the heavy hand of the federal government.

Physicians are told how to bill, how much to charge, and how to treat patients. They are mandated to use expensive electronic medical records. The federally enacted HIPPA (Health Information Privacy and Portability Act) makes the communication between physicians and atients burdensome, inefficient, and expensive. Every physician is required by federal mandate to register with the government to obtain an NPI (national provider identifier.) We are required by federal law to obtain and pay for a license to prescribe medication through the DEA, which is separate from our state licensure.

This heavy hand of government not only oversees the largest federal health bureaucracy ever created, but by extension reaches into every state, every city, and every small town to regulate how every licensed physician practices the art of medicine and how citizens obtain care.

The treatment is also clear.

The prescription for a cure was written into our constitution by our founders. Article V of our constitution allows for the states to call for a convention of states to limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government through the proposal of constitutional amendments. Physicians should be the strongest supporters of this brilliantly-crafted states’ rights tool placed into our constitution by our founders.

I urge my fellow American physicians to join with me in supporting an Article V Convention of States to take back control of the practice of medicine. It’s the only way that we can return the practice of medicine back to the intimate relationship between a doctor and patient without interference by the heavy hand of a distant, national government.
