I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this article from Breitbart News citing The Convention of States Action / Trafalgar Group poll from July 2022.
Convention of States made national news!
Here's the key question:
What is your opinion of federal bureaucracies in Washington DC like the EPA, CDC and IRS?
...and the answer is:
58.5% likely voters believe the federal bureaucracies have grown too large and only serve their own political interests.
But wait, there's more.
On July 5, Monmouth University released a poll showing the majority of Americans feel that federal government actions over the past six months have hurt their families and current government policies have not benefited the middle class at all.
A majority of 57% say that the actions of the federal government over the past six months have hurt their family when it comes to their most important concern. Just 8% say Washington has helped them and 34% say federal actions have had no real impact on their top concern.
The Monmouth study further reveals that the number of Americans who are struggling financially has jumped by 18 points since last year (from 24% to 42%), as soaring inflation has outpaced wage gains and sparked a cost-of-living crisis.
Moreover, those that identified as Republican and Democrat are evenly split at 47% over "who should control Congress."
Moral of the story: you are not the only one who is feeling frustrated and less than impressed with what our federal government has to offer. There seems to be agreement that something is awry in our nation's capital. Every citizen has a right to expect better.
