WVCOS Volunteers Visit Legislative Supporters

Published in Blog on December 13, 2021 by Dan Starkey

West Virginia Convention of States volunteers from as far away as Augusta met at the state capitol on December 6 to meet, thank, and build relations with our legislative supporters.

Legislative Consultant Conrad Lucas greeted us and briefed us on his continuing efforts and the latest COS buzz in the legislature. Jay Taylor, COS Legislative Liaison, was, as always, an indispensable guide helping us find our way around and introducing us to our legislators.

Volunteers met in-office with 2021 co-sponsor Delegates Caleb Hannah (District 44), Doug Smith (District 27), and 2014-2016 supporter Joe Statler (District 51) grateful for their continued support, and our newest supporter, Heather Tully, representing District 41. We also got to speak briefly between legislative meetings with many other legislators including 2021 Senate Lead Sponsor Sen. Bob Karnes, co-sponsor Sen. Mike Azinger, 2021 House Lead Sponsor Del. Riley Keaton, House Majority Leader Amy Summers, Delegates Clay Riley, Brandon Steele, Chris Pritt, Laura Kimble, and more thanking them for their support and they in return thanking us for our work. It was a fast-paced day and a good day meeting with our legislators working for the passage of Convention of States in West Virginia.
