‘We are ruled by unserious people’: Tucker Carlson and Vance react to latest establishment faux pas

Published in Blog on February 15, 2023 by Jakob Fay

Not all is as it should be, and the American people suspect that something is amiss.

Unfortunately, the political establishment does not seem to care.

On February 3, a freight train carrying hazardous chemicals derailed in East Palestine, Ohio. The accident forced “hundreds of people to evacuate the town for several days” in fear of exposure to the toxic chemicals.

Since then, several other HAZMAT releases have been reported across the country, causing many Americans to, understandably, ask questions.

But as Senator J.D. Vance pointed out in a recent episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight, the federal government has turned a blind eye. What’s worse, they continue to preoccupy themselves with concerns over “environmental racism” yet ignore this real threat to the American people’s safety.

“We’ve had hundreds of train derailments after we spent over a trillion dollars on infrastructure in this country,” the Senator from Ohio reminded Tucker, “so the fact that this isn’t getting obviously better is a major indictment of the people spending the money and what they’re spending the money on. Now we know, if you listened to Secretary [Pete] Buttigieg… that they are focused more on whether we have too many white men in construction jobs than… ensuring that we have a viable transportation infrastructure in this country.”

Both Tucker and Vance criticized the Biden administration and the Department of Transportation, spearheaded by Buttigieg, for focusing their time, money, and efforts on a meaningless, woke agenda while disregarding many serious problems.

“We are ruled by unserious people who are worried about fake problems,” Vance observed, “instead of the real fact that our country is falling apart in some of the most important ways.”

Watch the rest of Tucker and Vance’s conversation below.

Senator Vance hit the nail on the head: our unserious federal government would rather waste millions of dollars on woke initiatives than actually serve the American people.

But what do we do about it?

No matter how hard we try, it seems We the People can never get a grasp on our federal government or get them to stop wasting our money or pay attention to the issues that matter to us.

Another of Tucker Carlson’s recent guests had the solution to this frustration. Last month, Mark Meckler joined the popular Fox News host to describe how a Convention of States – a tool to resist tyranny put in the Constitution by our Founders – could be used to rein in the federal government.

We the People have tried for years to get the federal government back on track, but it is not working. In fact, it only seems to be getting worse. To end federal tyranny, we must call an Article V Convention of States. To show your support for this historic, grassroots-centric movement, sign the petition below!

Petition your state legislator

Almost everyone knows that our federal government is on a dangerous course. The unsustainable debt combined with crushing regulations on states and businesses is a recipe for disaster.

What is less known is that the Founders gave state legislatures the power to act as a final check on abuses of power by Washington, DC. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention to proposing needed amendments to the Constitution. This process does not require the consent of the federal government in Washington DC.

I support Convention of States; a national movement to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress.

I want our state to be one of the necessary 34 states to pass a resolution calling for this kind of an Article V convention. You can find a copy of the model resolution and the Article V Pocket Guide (which explains the process and answers many questions) here: https://conventionofstates.com/handbook_pdf

I ask that you support Convention of States and consider becoming a co-sponsor. Please respond to my request by informing the national COS team of your position, or sending them any questions you may have:
