Convention of States (COS) Co-Founder and Chancellor Emeritus of Patrick Henry College Michael Farris appeared on Steve Deace’s show on Tuesday to discuss the recent Supreme Court case United States v. Skrmetti.
Farris, who submitted an amicus brief with the Supreme Court, arguing in favor of Tennessee’s transgender care ban, explained to Deace why he supports the state’s right to legislate against gender reassignment surgeries for minors.
“At some level… we do have to say, this is not right,” Farris said. “There’s no moral basis for it. It’s wrong. It’s intrinsically wrong. And the state has the power to ban that which is intrinsically wrong.”
The pair also discussed the Convention of States movement, which Farris predicted “will have 100 years of effect at a minimum.”
